In 2001, The Potteries Museum
& Art Gallery in Stoke-on-Trent began work on a three year project, a new
website called Exploring the Potteries. This is a New Opportunities Funded
project making local history and natural history information held at the museum
available online. A large part of this work focuses on the effect of the pottery
industry on the local landscape, mineral resources and their influence on the
pottery industry, historic pottery factories and commercial ceramic
products.
The project ends in 2004.
