Picture of Bethesda Chapel, Albion Street, Hanley

Bethesda Chapel is an important part of the heritage of the Potteries. It is the outstanding monument to the Methodist movement in north Staffordshire and is the largest surviving early chapel in the area.
The chapel was erected in 1819, at a cost of £1200, then extended and given this elaborate frontage in 1851. It contains many monuments to the leading pottery manufacturers of Hanley and district.
