Trent Vale war memorial

St. John's Churchyard on Newcastle Road, Trent Vale is home to this war memorial. The inscription on the cross reads 'For our country 1914 - 1918'. There is a small plaque on the plinth of the memorial to state that it was 'Erected by voluntary subscriptions', and also 'Peace 1919'.
The following inscription reads around the base of the memorial:

'To the glory of God and in loving remembrance of the men of this parish who gave their lives in the Great War'.
