This
sandstone ridge, which is just off Brindley Lane
in Baddeley Edge, has luxuriant growth of heather
(Calluna vulgaris) along its top and
ledges. Above the ridge the vegetation is more
typical of acid grassland with an interesting
mosaic of heather, gorse and grasses including
sheep's fescue (Festuca ovina) and
mat-grass (Nardus stricta), grading back
into scrub and oak / birch woodland.
