This
old established grassland, near the junction of
Lightwood Road and Gravelly Bank in Lightwood, has the remains of a
pool and wet flush areas. A good range of
plants, bryophytes, fungi and birds (including
snipe) have been reported at the site. The pool is
overgrown by emergent vegetation and moss (Sphagnum
sp.) and the grassland is somewhat
overgrazed by cattle.
