Scientific name: Helix aspera.

Average shell diameter: 40mm.

A common visitor to the garden, though not always welcome as it can be something of a pest. The marbled pattern of garden snails shell is quite distinctive but fades with age. Apart from gardens can also be found in various habitats such as scrub and woodland edges.

Very common in Staffordshire.
